Vicksburg was important because the loss of that supposedly impregnable fortress would be a shattering psychological blow to the Confederacy and because a Southern army of 30,000 men was located there. Condition: DJ has some wear. No other known damage. This book is from a large lot of Civil War/Confederacy books I recently purchased.
