Description: This vintage item is the first Pepsi-Cola no-deposit, no-return bottle. It came from the estate of the longtime Pepsi bottler in Macon, Georgia, who noted the historic event by attaching a piece of masking tape to the bottle with the handwritten date of June 27, 1961, when it was first put on the market. It is capped and filled with the original contents, and features the cap with the Pepsi logo and the words ''No deposit, no refill.'' The bottle is clear glass and stands about 7 3/4 inches tall. The bottom is embossed with the logo of Owens Illinois Glass Co., which manufactured the bottle. There is a bit of crud where the masking tape was affixed to the bottle, and the cap is somewhat oxidized, but otherwise the item is in good shape. We offer this item with no reserve, and we gladly combine shipping. Please read "Shipping and Payment" instructions before bidding.
