Did I mention that the rod is substantial when compared to a plastic handled striker. Think slightly larger than a 30 caliber bullet in diameter. This is the fire starter to buy. Being able to buy a USA made, hand crafted item at this price point is amazing. I will be buying more for gifts. If I am willing to part with them.
