Description: FINE FINE Geo.V STERLING SILVER RING / TRINKET BOX by the GOLDSMITHS & SILVERSMITHS CO. - LONDON, 1914 This is a lovely finest quality, George the fifth Sterling Silver ring / trinket box made by the famed high-end London silversmiths Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co. Ltd and was assayed in London for 1914. In good, exceptionally heavy gauge, Sterling Silver it is depicted in a square hinged box form with a nice, heavily gadrooned lid edge, over a stepped foot. While to the top surface is a finely engraved crest of wolf's head erased over bar, which I believe belongs to the Lupton family of Leeds. The full hallmarks for the above maker and assay are crisp and clearly struck to the inner and outer box. It measures 2 3/8" (5.75cm) Sq. x 1 3/8" (3.5cm) H and weighs 116gms approx; and is in excellent condition with no defect to report - see photographs and details. This is a superb period, Geo.V sterling silver ring / trinket box by top silversmiths that’s in lovely original condition and with a low start price should have a great appeal to all collectors. I have to apologise for the reflections in the photographs, however these were unavoidable as the box's surface is highly polished mirror like.
