Description: This is a really great mask made by a talented Bete craftsman from the Cote d'Ivoire in west Africa. Amazingly carved from a single piece of wood, it has seen lots of use. From the disc-shaped crest to its long thin beak, there are many interesting details that the hard dense wood has helped to preserve, with no losses. The only condition issue is what looks like a burnt area on and under the left side of its moustache. For some reason this face says "German military" to me; it's probably that moustache! It is 11" or 12" tall. U.S. buyers please. [Boston Primitive]
