Description: Fine Handmade Antique 19th Century Lace Collar From a local estate, one very fine antique lace collar I guess you’d call it. I don’t know all the terms for the variety of lace, but it’s obviously done by hand and the lace is stitched to fine netting backing., either in the US or Europe. The color was probably ivory when made and in this natural light appears lighter than it is. I pictured against a piece of white cardstock which shows the color compared to white. It was stored with other linens in a box with paper which may have caused the darkening which could be corrected in desired.. In any event, it’s very fine work and a nice collectible piece of lace.
