Description: This fine George III period brass or bell metal candlestick was made in England c. 1780. It has a tapered gun barrel shaped column, round base and a flat bobeche. It is unusually tall at 10 1/8". It has a non-functioning push up and shows evidence of the lathe turning on the underside of the base. There is a tiny split in the bobeche where the two cast halves of the column were join when it was made. The candlestick stands straight and is in very good condition with the appropriate wear for a piece that is over 240 years old. Stock Number SA2A- 344
