Description: This is a beautiful and masterfully rendered Fine Antique California Impressionist Plein Air Landscape Oil Painting on canvas, depicting a tranquil and enchanting California landscape scene at sunset, with delicately painted eucalyptus trees bearing autumnal foliage, a small lake with mountain peaks in the distance, and small grass-covered hills in the foreground, dappled with wildflowers and other shrubbery. Signed and dated: "Vernon Little '36" in the lower right corner. Additionally, there is some writing in graphite on the lower stretcher bar of the verso which reads: "June 1936," and an address written in cursive, which is illegible to me. I could not find any information on this talented plein air painter, but perhaps you know more about him or his work? Approximately 29 3/4 x 35 3/4 inches (including frame.) Actual artwork is approximately 24 1/8 x 30 inches. Good condition for age, with some mild areas of discoloration, scuffing, and light paint loss (please see photos carefully.) Acquired from an old collection in Los Angeles County, California. If you like what you see, I encourage you to make an Offer.
