Description: Very Good Condition and Plays Perfect DVD Film Music Masters: JERRY GOLDSMITH (2005) 1995 documentary + 2 hr bonus Conducting Session. Plays on All USA DVD Players. This 1995 documentary is available on DVD for the first time, with over 2½ hours of bonus material. The factory-sealed limited-edition DVD (only 1500 copie and now out-of-print) has been two years in the making, during which time both Jerry Goldsmith and Fred Karlin (composer and director of the original documentary) passed away. The disc features the original 70-minute documentary, directed by Academy Award-winning composer Fred Karlin, filmed in 1994. This chronicles Goldsmith's career with film and music clips and contributions from his family (father, wife, and son Joel), directors (Paul Verhoeven, Franklin Schaffner, Richard Donner, Curtis Hanson) and colleagues (Arthur Morton, Alexander Courage). The documentary also shows Goldsmith at work on Curtis Hanson's film "The River Wild." In addition there are a number of special bonus features exclusive to the DVD: extended interviews with Bruce Botnick, recording mixer (25 minutes), Ken Hall, music editor (32 minutes), Alexander Courage, orchestrator (14 minutes), Jo Ann Kane, music copyist (8 minutes), Sandy De Crescent, orchestra contractor (9 minutes), and Arthur Morton, orchestrator (11 minutes); and 60 minutes of extended scoring session footage from "The River Wild." Watch Goldsmith rehearse and record three cues, working with the musicians and reviewing the film with director Curtis Hanson in the recording booth. Dolby Digital, Stereo, English, 1.33:1 Full Frame, Color NTSC, Regional Coded "All." This disc is playable on all NTSC compatible DVD players
