Description: For sale is a pair of well loved vintage plates from Homer Laughlin's Fiesta line in the original cobalt blue color. Softer than contemporary cobalt, the original blue was produced from 1936 until 1951. This group includes a 9 1/2" diameter luncheon plate and a 10 1/2" dinner plate, both with the characteristic Fiesta rings. These plates are suitable for display only. Both of these pieces have been well loved and used over the years. They show age with scratches and utensil marks on the surface and an overall dull finish and multiple flea bites on edges. The bottoms have stilt marks and areas of missing glaze. The glaze of one plate is thicker than the other. There is no visible imprint on the luncheon plate; the lower case black Fiesta mark is very light on the dinner plate (photograph 8). Made in the USA.
