This model is equipped with a Yosemite (TM) single-coil pickup that produces a rich and expressive tone, specially developed for the American Performer series, and a wax-soaked DoubleTap humbucker. The patent-pending pickup design prevents volume loss in single-coil mode and produces a dynamic sound with the combination of both pickups. The Yosemite(TM) pickup is a staggered specification with unchamfered pole pieces that achieve high output. The American Performer Telecaster Hum also features a Greasebucket (TM) tone circuit that attenuates the low range at the same time when the tone is turned down, preventing the sound from becoming muddy.
