Goethe's works span the fields of poetry, drama, literature, theology, humanism, and science. Goethe's magnum opus, lauded as one of the peaks of world literature, is the two-part drama Faust. Goethe is considered by many to be the most important writer in the German language and one of the most important thinkers in Western culture as well. Harry Clarke (1889–1931) was an Irish stained glass artist and book illustrator. Born in Dublin, he was a central figure in the Irish Arts and Crafts Movement. Clarke's work was influenced by both the passing Art Nouveau and coming Art Deco movements. The son of a craftsman, Joshua Clarke, Clarke the younger was exposed to art at an early age. By his late teens, he was studying stained glass at the Dublin Art School. Completing his education in his main field, Clarke travelled to London, where he sought employment as a book illustrator. Picked up by London publisher Harrap, his work was first printed in 1916. He made his reputation as a book illustrator during the golden age of gift book illustration in the first quarter of the twentieth century: Clarke's work can be compared to Aubrey Beardsley, Kay Nielsen, and Edmund Dulac. ---------- Return Policy---------- If you are unsatisfied with your purchase for any reason, a FULL refund will be issued so long as I am notified within 14 days after you recieve your purchase.
