Description: Description:This is a recounting of the wealthy and distinguished Walworth family in the New York of the later 1800’s who devolved into murder and madness - an American Gothic true tale of crime. The writing is marvelous and it reads almost like a novel instead a piece of American history. There are a few black and white photos. This is an ex-library hardcover in very good condition with almost no signs of use. The Fall of the House of Walworth - A Tale of Madness and Murder in Gilded Age AmericaGeoffrey O'BrienISBN: 978-0-8050-8115-2Henry Holt, 2010, 1st edition, 1st printingHardcover with dust jacket, index, 337 pagesEx-library copy************************************ This is an ex-library book that has been discarded from my local public library. Proceeds from the sale benefit the Friends of the Library who help the library acquire new books and services. All ex-library books will have handling wear. The pages will probably be soiled, the binding may be weak or starting to come apart, there will be cataloguing marks and stickers, pages might have tears or creases, and so on. However all books are readable, have no missing pages or odors and have been carefully screened to be sure there is nothing “icky” in them. All obvious flaws will be noted in the condition section. It is wonderful to be able to rescue these readable books for new readers. Condition: This is an ex-library book in very good condition with almost no signs of use. The pages are pristine, with no soiling, creases, tears, or odors. The binding is excellent and is tight and sturdy. It has a mylar cover with a little rubbing/scuffing/bumping on the surface and the usual library stamps and cataloging stickers. Overall, although this is an ex-library book, it is in very good condition. All books are wrapped and packed carefully in cardboard to ensure their safe arrival.____________________________________Okay, here are all those pesky little details: Payment:I ask that you pay within 3 days. If you are having an unexpected delay, just email me to let me know. Life happens, but communication can solve almost any confusion. I do combine postage on multiple items going to the same address. Just email me to let me know so I can send you a revised invoice with the adjusted postage.Nonpayment:I am a pretty easygoing person, but if I haven't either received payment within 3 days or heard from you, I have to assume you aren't planning on actually making the purchase. This means I'll have to follow eBay procedures for nonpayment of an item.Shipping:I always choose the least expensive form of shipping in order to save you money. The U.S. Post Office provides great service and their package tracking is free on all your purchases. However, sometimes speed is more important and I am happy to upgrade your shipping options if you can pay for the additional costs. If you contact me BEFORE payment, I am happy to set up alternative shipping methods, such as FedEx or UPS. I am an excellent packager and have a good supply of mostly recycled packaging supplies. I assure you I will take great care when I pack up your items. I've never had any damages yet! I go to the Post Office almost every day, so you can be sure that your item will be packed up and on its way to you either the same day or by the end of the next business day. Customer Service/Communication:Please remember, I have no control over the speed of the shipping once I drop your package off at the Post Office. I ship quickly on my end, but sometimes "stuff happens" during transit. I'm so sorry, but remember, it wasn't me. I personally hate it when I don't know what's going on with my online orders. Therefore I make sure to send you plenty of emails to let you know the details of your payments and the status of your shipment. Before you leave negative feedback, please email me first. I can usually figure out a solution to just about anything! And if you have any questions at all I am always happy to answer them.Returns:I want my customers to be happy with their purchases so I stand behind what I sell. If you are unhappy with your purchase within 30 days, you may return it; buyer pays postage. If I have made any errors in my description, I will pay the postage myself.Feedback:What makes eBay work is its feedback system. Please remember to leave honest and fair feedback promptly and I will do the same for you! Thanks for visiting The Occasional Something!Come again! _gsrx_vers_1292 (GS 8.3.6 (1292))
