Description: Vintage Fairy Craft windup toy boat. Speed Craft No. 3R. Circa 1930's. Boat made from Fairylite, a strong light and resilient pyroxlin, a type of early plastic/celluloid. Powered by a windup spring mechanism in full operating condition, with solid bronze propeller. Measures 15 inches long with a beam of approximately 4 inches. Box shows some wear and a few scratches on hull of boat, see photos. Manufactured by Shoe Form Co., Auburn, New York in the 1930's. Rare and highly collectable. Wind up mechanism works perfectly, appears to be missing shaft seal, (where the propeller drive shaft passes thru hull). Complete with original box and sales brochure.
