Description: Original real photo postcard showing the Graf Zeppelin in flight. On the side of the airship you can see the name “GRAF ZEPPELIN” and if you zoom in you can make out “LZ127.” This postcard is extra cool because it has a Friedrichshafen postmark dated 15th of August, 1929. The Graf made it's famous Round The World Voyage from August 8 – 29th with stops at Lakehurst - Friedrichshafen – Tokio – Los Angeles. It 100% looks like the sender of this card was there to see the Zeppelin make it's stop at Friedrichshafen (landing the 15th & taking off the 18th?) going onto Tokio. The message was written on Wednesday at 5:30pm (which was Aug 14th) and reads: “We are now here, the home of the Zeppelin.” I believe the sender of this postcard was an eyewitness to the Zeppelin landing and/or taking off during the famous flight. It will come to you in a clear acid-free soft sleeve and in a hard sleeve too, which allows you to handle and/or store it while protecting it. This postcard measures 5 1/2" X 3 1/2" and is in very good condition. From my smoke free home.
