External linear-amplifier keying relay for 10-meter base transceivers

Description: This is a fixed-price sale for quantity one (1) of the Nomad Radio "KeyBoard". This gadget will install inside a base-station transceiver radio that lacks the facility to activate an external amplifier directly. Traditional multi-band transceivers sold for use by amateurs will contain this feature built in. Might need a cable with a wonky adapter plug, but it's usually a standard feature. The last couple of decades have seen the growing popularity of "Ten Meter" ham transceivers. Yeah, I know, even if it says 10 AND 12 meters we both know this is a polite fiction. None of these radios includes an accessory jack to activate an external amplifier. Of course, it's not legal to include this feature in a CB radio. Probably not legal to install this in one of them, either. This gadget will fix this problem, eliminating the need to use a foot switch or other kluge to make the amplifier work. Much simpler to have the whole freight train go when the mike is keyed. And that's where the second yellow wire comes in. Got multiple requests from customers to key both a driver and a larger amplifier at the same time. After all, the "black radio" base stations have two of those sockets on the rear panel. A two-circuit relay costs about the same as one with just a single circuit so that's how we build it. Nothing says you have to hook up both circuits, even if your "black" radio has a RCA jack marked "frequency counter" and another marked "monitor". Figure it out. I should buy a sack of the RCA-style socket that's commonly used on ham amplifiers to key the relay inside. If you have trouble making it work, you have it hooked up wrong. The hookup is pretty straightforward, red for power and black for ground. A 'trigger' input marked "TX" at the pad for the orange wire where the radio's transmit-only voltage is sampled. The two yellow wires are the 'hot' side of EACH relay output, each hooked to the center pin of one RCA socket. One wire for each socket. Or only hook up one of them if you choose. The green wire is the linear ground, hooks to the ground side of BOTH jacks. What you see is what you get. One circuit board with wires that should be long enough to reach inside most base radios.
