Description: Charming and romantic pendant necklace, circa 1960s, from 'Exquisite'. The centre-piece is an oval pink resin cameo in the style sometimes referred to as 'Popular Goddess' . The cameo is enclosed in a handsome goldtone bezel and the pendant is suspended from the chain by a good V-shaped bale and runs freely on the chain. It is an unusual and quirky piece of pure fakery! The necklace is in generally very good vintage condition. There is some very slight wear to the goldtone finish on the chain close to the fastener and some minor scuffs on the surface of the cameo none of which detracts from the piece and all of which is in keeping with its age. It is clearly signed 'Exquisite' on the reverse.The cameo is approximately 4.5 cm long and the chain measures 54 cm.'Exquisite' was the brand name used by Birmingham jewellery manufacturer WAP Watson from 1914 to the 1970s. It is increasingly keenly collected especially in the UK.
