Exclusive! St. Jacinta of Fatima - AI Restored! - 3 sizes - Vintage Catholic Art

Description: Exclusive! St. Jacinta of Fatima - AI Restored! - 3 sizes - Vintage Catholic Art - Archival Quality Our dear little Jacinta is just 7 in this photograph, and look how perturbed she is. She had only told what she had seen, and she had been harassed by almost everyone because of it. No wonder the girl looks so wary. Jacinta, along with her brother Francisco and their cousin Lucia, had seen Mary, the mother of Jesus, in a pasture near their homes in Fatima.According to Lucia, Jacinta was particularly was drawn to making sacrifices for sinners. In 1920, three years after the apparition, Jacinta and Francisco caught the Spanish flu that was ravaging the world with its pandemic. While sick in bed, Our Lady came to visit Francisco and Jacinta again. Lucia reports Jacinta said, “Our Lady came to see us. She told us she would come to take Francisco to heaven very soon, and she asked me if I still wanted to convert more sinners. I said I did” (Fatima in Lucia's Own Words, a book by Sister Lúcia, p 59).Little Jacinta knew what that meant for her. It meant suffering. It meant the Cross. And yet, she was willing. She was 9 at the time, and she had more courage and more holiness than I do by far. As Francisco was dying, Jacinta told him, “Give all my love to Our Lord and Our Lady, and tell them that I’ll suffer as much as they want, for the conversion of sinners and in reparation to the Immaculate Heart of Mary” (Fatima in Lucia's Own Words, p 60). She died soon after. Canonized in 2017. The Feast Day for Saints Jacinta and Francisco are celebrated on the date of Jacinta’s death, February 20th.
