Description: Early antique China shoulder head doll with exceptional facial painting. Her eyebrows appear low with lively light blue intaglio eyes and a peaceful serene expression on her face. She has lower shapely China arms and also China legs in a firmly stuffed muslin body. Her boots have little heels and are painted black with the signature blue line towards the top of her calf. Her costume consists of old ecru taffeta pantaloons with lace trim and a very old stiff ecru muslin half slip that covers the back of her dress. As for the dress it appears to be a two piece suit made out of a peach taffeta with three quarter length jacket with a ruffled bodice and old black buttons in front. The skirt is long and features fancy ruffles in front with a bustle type feature in the back. Olive green ribbon is tied around her neck to complete her look. Looking her over I don’t see any damage but do see tiny pepper spot on her face as well as a tiny raised bump on her forehead that occurred in the making of the doll and it’s nothing detracting nor distracting. She is an amazing doll and a real show stopper. Antique doll also comes with her original custom wooden stand that was made for her. She comes out of a large China collection from Germany.
