Description: 1993 UK Eurovision Song Contest entry "Better The Devil You Know" by Sonia.The 38th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest, held on 15 May 1993 at the Green Glens Arena in Millstreet, Ireland. Twenty-five countries participated in the contest, the largest yet held. Former Eastern Bloc countries were allocated to first-time participating countries, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Slovenia. For the second year in a row, the winner was Ireland with the song "In Your Eyes", performed by Niamh Kavanagh. The United Kingdom achieving their second consecutive runner-up placing. Ireland achieved their fifth victory in the contest, matching the overall record held by France and Luxembourg, and joined Israel, Luxembourg and Spain as countries with wins in successive contests. "Better The Devil You Know" was a minor chart success in six European countries, with it's UK No.15 the highest achieved. It was her 11th UK Top 30 hit, but would be her last.
