Aside from Alfonso, the conjunto consisted of lead vocalists "Chino" Le?n Lahera Wilson and Arstides Valmaseda; Agustn Cabrera, 2nd voice and guitar; Filiberto Hernandez Fuentes, 3rd voice; "El gorila" Albertini, trumpet and director; David Palomares, piano and co-director; Andres "Nino Rivera" Echevarria, tres and arranger; Sergio de Cuba, bass; Pichi on bongos; and in the early 60's they were joined by the great Papi Oviedo on electric tres guitar. The album Mi Son Pilon, was recorded in the mid 1960's and features some of the hottest Afro-Cuban rhythms of the period. Fiery rumbas, guajiras, boleros, cha chas and more with beautiful trumpet and tres interplay makes this rare album a Cuban classic.
