Description: ErteAll Sails Up #160 of 250Bronze Hand Mirror After 35+ years of collecting fountain pens, pen accessories, coins and Erte bronzes and serigraphs I have decided to sell much of my collections. Please check my other eBay listings as I will be posting more items from my various collections on a regular basis. Romain de Tirtoff (23 November 1892 – 21 April 1990) was a Russian-born French artist and designer known by the pseudonym Erte, from the French pronunciation of his initials. He was a 20th century artist and designer in an array of fields, including fashion, jewelry, graphic arts, costume and set design for films, theater, opera and interior décor (from Wikipedia). The Details: For sale is a vintage 1980’s Erte bronze hand mirror, All Sails Up #160 of 250 Produced. I own all six (6) of Erte’s bronze hand mirrors having acquired them from Dyansen Galleries in San Francisco, California in the early/mid/late 1980’s. I plan on selling all of them (with the exception of maybe Indo-China) so please check my other eBay listings. Some of the hand mirrors Dyansen Galleries procured for me from other private Erte collectors (I was a very good Dyansen customer at the time). I was very serious at the time about owning ALL of the Erte hand mirrors and I had Dyansen on a hunt calling other previous purchasers to see if they would sell one back to them so they could resell it to me; yes, I was that serious about owning all of them at the time. The hand mirror is in its original wood case with the brass “Erte” plaque located on the top. Additionally, the wood case comes with its original felt protective bag that protected the wood case from scratches. The case is in Excellent condition for its age but does have some minor age scratches and dings on the outside and on the inside of the case. Hinges on the box are in Excellent condition and fully operational. The inside of the box is also in Excellent condition for its age. The liner is not ripped or torn; however, it does show the imprint of the hand mirror, having been in the case for 30+ years. The hand mirror itself is in ORIGINAL, MINT/NEAR MINT foundry condition and without any visible scratches or issues! I truly love this hand mirror, the detailing on the mirror with the woman with her headdress and beads is just so creative, original and fantastic. So representative of the creative artistic genus that was Erte! The hand mirror comes with its Certificate of Authenticity (COA) from Dyansen Galleries (unfortunately long since bankrupt and gone). After I acquired the hand mirror(s) I had plans on displaying them all in my library, however, I never followed through with that idea and they were stored in one of my library cabinets for decades and forgotten (hence the excellent condition of all the ones I own). The Fine Print: Please see all photos as they are considered part of the description of this listing (photos are of the wood case and hand mirror listed for sale). If you have any questions, feel free to message me before you bid or purchase. Payment is required at auction end; I will only ship to a verified eBay address and not to another location, so please don’t ask. Due to the cost, weight and possibility of damage I will NOT ACCEPT RETURNS on this eBay listing! A flat shipping charge of $49 will be incurred to cover FedEx delivery and insurance. International customers the mirror will be shipped via the eBay Global Shipping Program meaning it will be shipped to the eBay Kentucky processing center and then repackaged with customs paperwork to be shipped on to you the purchaser. Note that once I ship the mirror to eBay I no longer have control over their processing and delivery time estimates (they will communicate directly with you). Additionally, international customers may be charged customs duty/taxes/VAT as per the import laws of the destination import country, those fees are the buyer’s (i.e. your) responsibility! I urge international customers to contact their local customs office for an estimate of import duties beforeordering.
