Illustrator Ernst Emil Schlatter was "a Swiss painter and graphic artist born in 1883. He studied at the School of Applied Arts in Zurich and later at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. Schlatter was known for his expressionist style and his use of bold colors and strong lines....He exhibited his work in numerous exhibitions throughout Europe and was highly regarded by his contemporaries.
