Description: Erie, PA CDV woman w sausage curls, fancy dress, white collar by B.W. Brown This woman looks into the distance, in 3/4 profile. Her hair is curled across her head and hangs in sausage curls. She is wearing a very fancy dress, perhaps with a tulle or lace overlay, and a white collar. In her collar is a large collar pin, and she wears long drop earrings. Yellowing to image and card. Soiling to card and image. Bottom edge trimmed and top two corners clipped. On reverse is printed: "B.W. Brown,Photographer,1390 Peach StreetErie, Penn" B.W. Brown appears in the Erie City Directory, listed as a photographer at this address from 1873-1876. Card measures about 3.625 x 2.5 inches, photo is about 3.375 x 2.25 inches and image vignette is about 2.5 x 2 inches. My mother was a photographer who collected antique photos of all types for years. As I am settling her estate, I will be listing these photos as quickly as I am able. There are hundreds of photos to go through, and I am trying to match any information my mother may have left with individual photos. Unfortunately, Mom had dementia at the end of her life and wasn't able to tell me much about her collection. She had done a lot of research into photographers and individual pieces in her collection, and often, but not always, filed her research with the photo(s). I search for more information on the internet and in history books, but it's a slow process and it will take me a long time to complete the sorting and selling process.
