This is AN EPIDOTE CRYSTAL CLUSTER WITH DOUBLE TERMINATED QUARTZ CRYSTALS. THE QUARTZ CRYSTALS HAVE INCLUSIONS OF EPIDOTE, CHLORITE AND BYSSOLITE. This is from the GREEN MONSTER MOUNTAINS, on PRINCE OF WALES ISLAND, ALASKA. This is a fantastic specimen and the epidote is gemmy and semi-translucent when viewed in full direct sunlight. The quartz crystals are mostly double terminated and are markedly green from inclusions of chlorite as well as also epidote. The cloudy areas have microscopic inclusions of byssolite fibers.Approximate size of crystal specimen: 1 1/2" wide X 1" deep X 5/8" tall or in metric: 3.8 X 2.7 X 1.5 CM. The metric measurement is more precise. This weighs : 0.45 ounces or 13 grams. This is very old stock that was collected in the 1970's by Mr. Lee Myers. Lee would pay someone to drop him off at the dig site with a helicopter and they would return in a few days to pick him up.This is shown with enlarged images so please note: This is shown with large high-resolution images. The photos show the specimen as if you were examining it with a magnifying glass. Every good detail, and every bad detail, is shown in a blaze of glory or shame as the case may be. Having said that, since the photos are highly enlarged you may see features or blemishes that will not be detectable or will not be as prominent to the naked eye. To put it another way, (as if that wasn't clear enough?) these are large pictures of a small crystal. This specimen is priced commensurate with its rarity, locality and quality.
