Description: Vintage red (some call it pink!) transferware round serving bowl in a pattern called "Colonial." It has a mark I have never seen before: "Yorke Ironstone Old Staffordshire England." Since Colonial was previously produced by Enoch Wood & Sons, my guess is that this company Yorke bought out Wood & Sons, which was an older company, sometime in the mid-20th century, and reintroduced the pattern. The patterns are almost identical except for slight differences so they look like they are all a set. "Colonial" features pretty, typical British or American landscape scenes with a floral border, which is often the case for this type of vintage transferware. This bowl measures 8" in diameter and 2 1/2" tall. It's in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or other damage. If you like British red transferware, you will love this pattern, which would mix and match well with other vintage patterns. Please see my other listings with other pieces of Colonial I have available.
