Total Kit Dimensions (Packed) in Container: 1 1/8" Round Container x 7/16" Thick. 1/2" Brass Split Ring attached. (1) Plastic Container, Round, Snap Hinge Lid: Durable plastic container with thick hinge. Brass Split Ring is attached to the hinge of the container in order to secure it to your gear. (1) 1/2" Brass Split Ring: The split ring is attached to the case for carry. Also can be removed easily for other tasks...such as snare hardware or fishing applications. (1) 1/8" x 5" Electrical Tape: This thin band of electrical tape is wrapped around the plastic container to MAKE SURE that the case doesn't open unless you want it to. The case...with it's contents...all fit perfectly inside. The lid won't pop open....but the tape adds some security against accidental opening. Also...the tape can come in handy for field repair and bushcraft. (2) Tinder Quick Fire Starting Tabs: These little "old reliables" are probably the best dry tinder tabs on the market today. The key to using this type of tab is to really fluff it up into fine strands and threads. It will catch a spark and light even under damp or wet conditions. Long burn time for it's size. These are perfect for a Micro Kit. (1) Ferrocerium Steel ( Ferro Rod ), 1/4"+ Diameter x 5/8"+ Length: This little Ferro Rod will create a great spark with a little practice with the included Striker Steel. Targeted strikes will easily light a fluffed Tinder Tab. Best used if squeezed between your thumb and pointer finger so that you can draw across the entire length toward your tinder bundle. My personal record is two strikes until fire....in a drizzle rain shower. (1) Magnesium Rod, 3/16"+ Diameter x 9/16"+ Length: Just in case you need a little pile of magnesium shavings/powder in order to jump start a tinder pile....this little mag rod is the answer. The included Striker Steel will yield a nice pile of shavings in a few minutes. Take a little practice due to the small size. (1) Striker Steel. 13/16" Long x 7/16" Wide x Thin: The Striker is custom made for this kit, and fabricated from a high-quality hacksaw blade. The cutting and grinding process further hardens the edges to make for a better tool. This is a small striker...and it takes a little getting used to....but this kit is designed to be MICRO....and it WORKS! * * * * * Well folks...If you made it this far, you are a serious person that is interested in having the peace of mind in knowing that you can easily carry a small fire starting kit that will GREATLY help you in the event of an emergency or survival situation.
