Elizabeth Patterson Signed Photograph and Signed Handwritten Letter

Description: Accompanied by her handwritten signed letter written on the stationery of the Roosevelt Hotel, Hollywood, California is this wonderful vintage autographed signed and inscribed photograph from famed character actress Elizabeth Patterson (Mary Elizabeth Patterson 1874-1966). Her credits in theatre, film and television include playing the elderly neighbor Matilda Trumball on the popular television comedy series “I Love Lucy.” The photograph depicts a young Patterson signed at the time. In her letter Patterson apologizes for her delay in sending out the signed photograph and dating the photograph to 1931 mentions, “…hope you will enjoy ‘Daddy Long Legs’ & ‘Tarnished Lady” as much as you did the other pictures. Letter measures 6 X 9. Photograph 8 X 10 but lightly taped to a slightly larger mat which hides several small punch holes including one covered on front with a small gold star sticker. A newsprint article is taped and several notations are made on verso. SEE PICTURES. Good condition. Still among the nicest listed on eBay!
