The signed photo postcard (1928) measures 85mm x 135mm (3.3" x 5.3"). The photo dated 1949 measures 98mm x 146mm (3.8" x 5.75"). The inscription is illegible, but you can see the signature somewhat. There is also a mild 2" vertical crease near her right hand. Elisabeth Schumann was a German lyric soprano. She made her stage debut in Hamburg in 1909. Her career started in the lighter soubrette.roles. She remained at the Hamburg State Opera until 1919, also singing during the 1914/1915 season at the Metropolitan Opera. From 1919 to 1938 she was a star of the Vienna State Opera. Her most famous role was in Strauss's Der Rosenkavalier. "Bellarara" is a new division of my "hifi" ebay business.
