Description: eldred wheeler furniture. Connecticut Lowboy Eldred Wheeler has made handcrafted 18th century reproductions for 40 years.Founded by Emmett Eldred and Bill Wheeler in the 70's- the company was one of the first to build fine 18th century handcrafted reproductions of pieces built in the late 1700's outside major urban areas in New England. The Lowboy is made from Cherry in the Queen Anne style. It is fastened in the traditional manner by dowels and glue with block bracing. The drawer bottoms dado hand planed and secured with wrought nails The hand plane marks are clear on the drawer bottoms and on the back board of the Lowboy. The back is rough finished and meant to be against the wall or behind a sofa etc.. The Connecticut Lowboy is 30 inches tall. 33.75 inches in width and 20.75 inches deep The condition is very good with the exception of some fading in spots on the top surface. One spot something must have been set on it that left a barely visible mark. I just noticed it when I was taking the photos. It's been covered by a piece of lace that was keeping a lamp from scratching the surface. I've used the Lowboy as a side table instead of as a dressing table when it was first purchased. I have been the only owner of the Eldred Wheeler set of bedroom furniture I'm currently selling. The lowboy has been used only as a nightstand sidetable for over 35 years. The last piece available is besides this Connecticut Lowboy 1) Flat Top Highboy 2 piece (Cherry) Please note: I am willing to deliver the piece within 400 or so miles for the price of the fuel.
