Description: Two Piece Flattop Highboy Eldred Wheeler has made handcrafted 18th century reproductions for 40 years.Founded by Emmett Eldred and Bill Wheeler in the 70's- the company was one of the first to build fine 18th century handcrafted reproductions of pieces built in the late 1700's outside major urban areas The Flattop Highboy is two pieces. A top and bottom. The top has 7 drawers and the bottom 4 drawers. The piece is made from cherry. Fastened by traditional means of dovetails and dowels. The brass hardware with an antique patina is from Horton-Brass The base section is 35 inches tall. 36 inches wide and 19 inches deep. The bowing of the legs make and overall width of 37.5 inches. The base has 4 drawers. An upper thin drawer that goes side to side. There are three drawers under that. The top section is 35.5 inches tall, 33.25 inches wide and 17.75 inches deep. The crown moulding on the top piece is 35.5 inches wide and 19.25 inches deep. This section contains 7 drawers 3 small ones across the top and then 4 drawers under those. There is a small damaged area in the upper left corner of the crown moulding. Shown in a photo. 1/16" X 1/8" Other than that one spot the Highboy is in excellent condition. The carvings are the softer scallop shell design. I have been the only owner of the Eldred Wheeler set of bedroom furniture I'm currently selling. The last piece remaining is as follows, besides this Flattop Highboy . 1) Connecticut Lowboy (Cherry) Please note: I am willing to deliver the furniture within 400 or so miles for the cost of the fuel.
