Description: I'm currently listing a large number of playbills from out-of-town tryouts prior to the Broadway runs. Many are from early performances when revisions were common and include song titles that were cut before opening in New York. (See cut songs below.) ....... This is a rare autographed September 2nd, 1961 playbill from the Pre-Broadway tryout of the NOEL COWARD musical comedy "SAIL AWAY" at the Colonial Theatre in Boston, Massachusetts. (The production would open October 3rd, 1961 at the Broadhurst Theatre in New York City and run for 167 performances.) ..... The musical starred ELAINE STRITCH and JEAN FENN (whose role would be eliminated in Philadelphia) and featured JAMES HURST, MARGALO GILLMORE, ALICE PEARCE, PATRICIA HARTY, GROVER DALE, CHARLES BRASWELL, WILLIAM HUTT (whose role would be eliminated in Philadelphia), EVELYN RUSSELL, BETTY JANE WATSON, JAMES PRITCHETT, JON RICHARDS, HENRY LAWRENCE, MARGARET MOWER, C.
