While many makers use alternative materials to keep the price low, this is a high cost-performance model that outperforms other brands as a Japanese-made set-neck model. The head angle is set at 17 degrees, calculated to provide just the right amount of tension, and a deep joint structure is used to bond the neck and body with high precision and strength, making this a high-performance model. The materials used are hard maple top, mahogany body, mahogany neck, and fingerboard made of ebony, which is known as a high-grade wood. The price of ebony fretboards is still rising, and many models are not made with ebony fretboards, but this Japanese-made model at this price is a high-cost performance model. The pickup is equipped with the EDWARDS LEGACY HUMBUCKER - ELH-1, which was developed to faithfully bring out the original sound of the instrument. This humbucker has a bright sound with sufficient output, while being slightly subdued. It has a quick start-up without any fidgeting when picked. It also has a clear drive sound that modern humbuckers do not have. When the selector is in the mix position, the rear and center pickups are output in parallel.
