This is a complete run of East-West from its inception in 1925 through the end of Volume 5 in 1933. Each magazine is in an individual PDF file. About half the collection are exact scans of each page of the magazine while the other half are full text versions of the magazine with ads and sometimes photos removed. The text conversions come with a table of contents page and each article in the contents can be clicked on to jump directly to that article. Original copies of early East-West magazines are very scarce and run upwards of $100 apiece when you can find them. This is why this collection contains a mixture of scanned originals and converted text issues. Not all issues were available for direct scanning. The converted text issues are very nicely formatted and easy to read and have been proofed for errors. Examples of both formats can be viewed in the photos (# 5 & 6 are text). A few of the tables of contents have been included in the photos to give you a feel for what you will be getting. The meat of the collection is of course the writings of Swami Yogananda but much of cultural, religious and historical interest is contained in these journals also. A wide variety of authors were published in the journals pages. Articles by Luther Burbank, Benito Mussolini, Mahatma Gandhi, Lillian Gish, and Calvin Coolidge are but a sampling of the great depth and variety to be found within the magazine. These are digital copies of the original East West magazine. They come on a CD. You are not getting $4000 worth of antique paper magazines for < $13. You are getting every word that was originally printed in those magazines though.
