Description: Up for sale today is an Original Early WWII U.S. Army Hatchet and Sheath. The hatchet was made by the American Fork & Hoe Company, and it is dated 1942. The Sheath was made by the Shane Mfg. Company, and it is also dated 1942. This hatchet is still in excellent vintage condition. It still has a very sharp edge on it. The hickory handle is in excellent condition. It is firmly attached to the iron end, and it is still extremely tight. This hatchet can still be used without any worries. The khaki canvas sheath is still in very nice condition. It does have a few small nips on it though, but nothing bad by any means. The belt hook, and the strap and buckle are all still in excellent condition.
