Description: Vintage IBM Selectric I Model 72 in black. Great looking example, direct from a local estate and being sold as found. I plugged it in, but get nothing. Machine is getting power as I can feel it warm up on the back . Not sure if I am doing something wrong, but no power appears to activate the machine or any of the keys when I press the ON button. It also looks to need a cleaning of the bottom pan as I can see buildup on the inside. Good overall condition aesthetically. Cosmetically strong, no cracks, no break, no bends, no dents or signs of abuse. Black finish is good, light hand wear along the front, small corner or edge rubs noted on the left and right side, some scratches on the right of the machine .. see photos, minor scuffs but nothing dramatic, couple of small deep scratches. Keys are all intact and free of damage, minor signs of age and patina only. Uncleaned, the interior/works show expected dust and residue, but do not see any corrosion, damage or wear. Appears to be in original condition, unmodified, no repairs visible. Mechanically this appears to be in need of electrical work to provide machine power… may be as simple as a cord issue, but I don’t have the skill to explore, so being sold AS IS for PARTS or REPAIR and no returns. . About 16" wide, 14.5" deep and 7" tall. Weighs about 30 pounds. Buyer to pay actual shipping costs, careful packaging and insurance included. THANKS FOR LOOKING!!!
