Description: Floral Still Life by ZV Mathews, ca. early 20th Century Watercolor A 23 x 29 in framed antique watercolor with excellent shading & details! This exceptional, large watercolor is a standout in shading and detail! Likely an early-to-mid 20th Century piece by Z. V. Mathews, a side-lit vase with a very robust and wild bouquet is captured on a sunny windowsill! Sheer curtains set against a canary yellow, seemingly textured background accentuate the vibrant bouquet! Not much was found besides a few auctions for Mathews’ pieces. It is likely that Mathews was a resident of California or the Pacific Northwest. This piece comes in a heavy wood frame behind glass. Condition: This piece is in EXCELLENT condition! The watercolor shows very few, if any, signs of use or wear, and is free from flaws, damage, and repair. The piece was not removed from its original frame for examination. The frame has some surface wear, including some moderate wear to the bottom edge, but is also free from major flaws, damage, and repair! This piece comes ready to hang!
