Description: Here's a early ring-top EAGLE PENCIL CO. fountain ring top pen in lined black hard rubber. The noted problems are that it is missing the floating ring that likely was at the top with only the fixed ring remaining and attached at the top of the crown. The gold filled trim (only the crown ring assembly and lever) both have some brassing, but both look decent after a light polishing (worst is the top edge of the crown and lever tab). The lever is frozen in position and will need its hardened sac replaced and possibly a j-bar. The pen, including the stationary ring, is just over 4" long. The black hard rubber has very good color and all the lining is present, though it probably has some light areas of wear. I see a couple of scratches on the rubber, but nothing serious. The bold barrel imprint is in 2 lines, EAGLE PENCIL CO., NEW YORK USA. The nib is marked 14K within a shield...possibly more below the section line. I suppose this is a stub nib (possibly italic) about medium and with iridium and good flexibility.
