Description: Dr. Johnson Educator Crackers Tin This antique cracker biscuit tin likely dates back the late 1800's, as Educator brand crackers were first produced in Boston from 1885. It is made of gold tin with black lettering. Measures 5.5" x 5.5" x 5.5". The brand is no longer in production. Educator crackers have an interesting history which can be found on the web. Basically Dr. Johnson was a dentist who wanted to contribute to his patient's dental health by creating a whole wheat cracker rather than a white flour cracker. This example has some condition issues with rust on the top and bottom, as shown. It still displays well.
