Description: This is a rare June 27th, 1943 playbill (with a U.S. War Savings Bond cover) from the Original Broadway production of the JOHANN STRAUSS, GOTTFRIED REINHARDT and JOHN MEEHAN, Jr. operetta "ROSALINDA" ("Die Fledermaus") at the Imperial Theatre in New York City. (The production opened October 28th, 1942 at the Forty-Fourth Street Theatre, moved to the Imperial Theatre on May 24th, 1943, returned to the Forty-Fourth Street Theatre on October 4th, 1943 and spent the final three months at the Forty-Sixth Street Theatre beginning November 15th, 1943. The show closed January 22nd, 1944 after 611 performances.) ..... The musical starred DOROTHY SARNOFF in the title role and featured OSCAR KARLWEIS, RALPH HERBERT, VIRGINIA MacWATTERS, EVERETT WEST, LEONARD STOCKER, GENE BARRY, PAUL BEST, XENIA BANK, EDWIN FOWLER, LOUIS SORIN, WILLIAM DOLLAR, MARY ELLEN, ELISE REIMAN and TODD BOLENDER with JEAN MERRILL playing the title role at all matinee performances .....
