When in the off position it is clear acrylic, when turned on, it glows in a variety of colors in a steady state, a mellow blend or a quick motion as seen in the provided video. Other than having been previously gently handled and used, everything appears and functions perfect. There are a couple of very minor scuff lines on the plexi-glass which are practically invisible when off and invisible when on. No Big Deal. This item uses three AAA batteries or can also operate with a USB power cord (not included) and when the button on the back is pressed it lights up. Whenever you want to change its type of motion then you press again.
