Description: Disneyland 1964 BEN HARRIS Business Card SIGNED NY World's Fair It's Small World Vintage Disneyland Treasures from Saturday's Toys presents... an original / vintage Disneyland business card with Mickey Mouse artwork on the reverse side of the card. PERSONALLY SIGNED on the front of the card by former 1960's Disneyland Production Coordinator, Ben Harris. These business cards were quickly produced for the 1964 New York World's Fair so that Disneyland management personnel could easily be identified for admission throughout the fairgrounds... including oversight assignments at "it's a small world" and Disney's other attractions at the fair throughout the 1964 and 1965 seasons. The presence of this "special edition" Mickey Mouse business card... was instantly recognizable throughout the World's Fair entry gates... and provided simple access for each authorized member of the Disney management team. Card is 2.25" x 3.5"; in very good condition. Signed in black ink. As issued exclusively to Ben Harris (March 23, 1939 - Aug. 19, 2023) as "Sr. Staff Assistant / Hotel Division" after a successful career at Disneyland City Hall / Customer Relations (Entertainment) Division in Anaheim, California. (Additional photos for illustration only; not included with listing) About Ben Harris: This item comes from the personal archives of retired Disneyland Production Manager, Ben Harris. His career at Disneyland would span from 1958 thru 1970; and would then shift to Florida from 1970 thru 1972. His work included the Santa Fe & Disneyland Railroad at Disneyland; and he would later serve as Production Coordinator for Tommy Walker before serving as Manager of Wardrobe distribution to all cast members. Throughout the mid-1960's, Ben was often tasked with providing narration through Disneyland's public address system. Perhaps most notably, on November 22, 1963, Ben Harris was assigned to officially announce to all Disneyland guests and cast members the death of President John F. Kennedy after his assassination in Dallas, Texas. From the backstage offices of Disneyland's master sound controls, Ben activated the emergency override to all music and attraction narration throughout the park... and made the official announcement of the tragedy. About Us Combined Shipping Available Saturday’s Toys and Collectibles was founded in 1994 by Southern California author and media historian, Dave Mason. Soon after eBay's launch the following year, Saturday's Toys was among the first online specialists to strategize in embracing this rapidly developing technology. Having delivered over 16,000 coveted treasures since that time, Saturday's Toys is pleased to partner with researchers and collectors throughout the globe. Today, online offerings of archival keepsakes are presented in celebration of the times that allow for family, friends and neighbors to join in memorable gatherings that nurture the strong connections that bind a community together. These treasures are affectionately represented by "Saturday's Toys." In that light we present our adopted motto (with a nod to the Sherman Brothers): "Oh, let's go fly a kite!" We are glad to combine shipping for multiple purchases in order to reduce costs whenever possible. Simply let us know before processing payment for the items selected and we'll be glad to revise and forward a final invoice to reflect the combined shipping price. This usually works most effectively when combining flat paper items (postcards, newsletters, ephemera, etc.) but we'll do our best to make any combined purchase provide your best value for shipping.
