The edges are evenly cut (not torn). The pages are held together with a paperclip; the pages have the indent shape of the paperclip (the indent remains even when the paperclip is removed). This listing does not include fabric, thread, beads, or embellishments. The pattern is printed on white magazine paper with black ink. The chart squares are approx 10 squares to an inch which, in my opinion, are fairly easy to see. The pattern has shaded areas where the pages overlap to make it easier to find your place. The pattern is 163H x 146W. The materials listing includes both DMC and Anchor thread conversion.
