Description: Dieter Roth, Pastry [Gebäck]. 1970, intaglio etching on handmade wove paper, signed, dated and numbered 10/30 in pencil at the lower margin. Impression size 9.25 x 10.25 inches, full sheet 20.5 x 30.5 inches. Printed by H. Badetzko, Dusseldorf, Germany, and published by Gallery Wilbrand, Cologne. Listed as entry 151 in the Dobke catalogue raisonne of Roth's prints. According to the catalog, only the first 15 of the edition of 30 were done by intaglio - the rest were done as a relief print. See the last photo for a picture of the Dobke entry. In very good condition, the image area is clean, but has some faint compression marks and creases, the most noticeable at the upper left corner, upper right corner and lower center; the margins with more soft creases, heaviest on the left edge. A rare, fun print, with a lot of trademark Roth motifs, including food, ships, odd printing techniques and general weirdness. The print will ship via USPS Priority, securely rolled in a tube.
