Description: “CRISIS IN THE CANADAS: THE GREY JOURNALS AND LETTERS, 1838-1839”(Edited by: William Ormsby) This volume contains the back-and-forth correspondence between Lt. Colonel Charles Grey, and his Father, back in England. Grey was in Canada on a military and diplomatic mission, following the failed Rebellions of 1837 in Upper Canada and Lower Canada. The letters are a detailed look at the political situation, daily life in Quebec City and the Canadian colonies, and much gossip, and so on! I can’t do justice to these letters, so I have scanned the dustjacket “blurb” – please see the photos for a better idea of this super book! The book is a hardcover, bound in black cloth with gold embossed title on spine. It also has a dustjacket, and was published in Toronto by Macmillan of Canada, in 1964. It is a first edition, and is long out of print. It is 244 pages long, and also has a section of photographs and an index. The book is used, but is in very good condition. No missing or torn pages, and a tight spine & clean cover. The dustjacket is crisp and clean, with only a few minor “chips” on the top edge. The top bidder should add $22.99 postage within Canada, or $25.99 to the USA. I have other, similar books up for sale now, so please check them out too! Multiple books always combined to save on postage, & full refund if you’re not happy. Thanks for looking! Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE
