Description: This mid-19th-century Deruta maiolica tazza, now used as a wall plate, is a charming example of Renaissance Revival design. The central figure, likely representing Ceres, the Roman goddess of harvest, is surrounded by ornate acanthus scrolls and rinceaux patterns painted in cobalt blue and orange, set off by a vibrant yellow border. The back is glazed white with a moulded swirl decoration, and the visible backstamp confirms its Deruta origin. Measuring 24 cm in diameter, the tazzas foot has suffered a large loss, preventing it from standing independently. It now has a small rope attached, allowing it to be hung as a decorative wall plate. The edges show some fritting, characteristic of its age and use. We recommend viewing all the photos before buying. We are also happy to answer any questions to help you make the right decision.
