Description: Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Here we have a stunning document of musical improvisation at its inspired best, from ace string-bender DEREK BAILEY and electric guitar shaman KEIJI HAINO: Drawing Close, Attuning - The Respective Signs of Order and Chaos, a Japanese import CD released in 1997 by the Tokuma label, now out of print. This was the first recorded meeting of these two masters, and the results are positively incandescent on these seven untitled pieces that total nearly seventy-five minutes. Haino (left channel) and Bailey (right channel) achieve an amazing mind-meld here, exchanging musical data like two halves of the same brain… trading plinks and plonks, lurching forward and backward, grappling like wrestlers, circling in time, occasionally coalescing into a thick maelstrom of frenetic pick-and-strum. Creative, untamed and deeply felt, this is a CD of especially profound improvisation and an absolute must for fans of either guitarist. The disc is near mint, and the obi is intact and included.
