This listing is for one used Dell Latitude E5540 laptop with battery, power adapter and docking station. It comes with a fresh install of Windows 11 Pro with the latest updates (as of 11/6/2024). A Windows 11 DVD and CD with drivers and user guide are included if you ever want to do a fresh Windows install yourself. The laptop is in good physical and working condition. It has been refurbished by us, including a fresh install of Windows, and cleaning of the screen, casing, keyboard, touch pad and palm rest. Also, it has been upgraded with a 500GB SSD and by upgrading the memory to 16GB, providing a big performance increase. Key features include: 15.6" diagonal wide screen Intel Core i5-4310U 2GHz CPU, 3GHz turbo boost 16GB memory (upgraded from 4GB - this allows for loading more applications, photos, etc. before performance is affected) 500GB SSD drive (upgraded from a HDD - this makes a very big increase in overall laptop performance) stereo speakers, webcam, microphone CD/DVD drive ports: two USB 2.0, two USB 3.0, Ethernet, HDMI, VGA, microphone/headphone, and EC slot network connectivity: wireless and Ethernet The docking station includes the following ports: 2 DVI, 2 Display Port, 1 VGA, 5 USB, 1 RJ-45 Ethernet, 1 Serial, 1 Parallel, 1 PS/2 Keyboard, 1 PS/2 Mouse, 1 Audio Out, 1 Audio In, 1 eSATA. Note that: The laptop is being replaced as part of a business's policy of periodically swapping out computers. The laptop casing, keyboard and touch pad are in great overall condition, with little signs of wear. There are no scratches on the screen. The laptop comes with Windows 10/11 digital activation, so if you do a fresh install of Windows, it will automatically activate itself when you connect to the Internet. Running Windows 11 on this laptop is not officially supported by Microsoft, but like millions of computers not officially supported by Microsoft, it works perfectly without issues. Running Windows 10 is supported if you prefer that version. We tested the USB ports, HDMI port, sound, optical drive, wireless functionality, and the Ethernet port, and all appear to work properly. The SD card reader does not appear to work because we tried a couple of cards in it and they were not recognized by the laptop. We could not test any other ports, thus we cannot guarantee these function properly. For the docking station, we could only test the USB and Ethernet ports, and cannot guarantee the remaining ports function properly. There are some spots on the screen that appear brighter than the area around it, most noticeable with light/white backgrounds, and less/not noticeable otherwise. We tried to show this in some of the photos of the screen; see the photos where the mouse pointer is over a white background and near it is a bright white dot. The battery holds a charge, and we were able to boot and run the laptop off battery while testing the laptop. The Dell BIOS describes the battery health as "Excellent". The laptop is used and out of the manufacturer's warranty. We offer a 3-day return policy: you may return it for any reason, for example, it feels too heavy, you don't like the keyboard, it does not meet your expectations, etc., if you contact us within 3 days of receiving it to schedule a return, and return shipping is at the buyer's cost. Disassembling the laptop, removing parts or physical damage voids this return policy. The price + shipping is firm; please do not make offers, they will remain unanswered.
