Description: Bold and striking art glass statement vase from David Levi (Ibex studios). The vase is lime green with a darker green rim and a black foot. The simple form and bold color choice are reminiscent of Scandinavian design. Please note that the second photo has a better feel for the true colors in the vase as the piece was too large for my light box and the lighting in my house is poor. The outside photo was taken on a partially cloudy day. About the artist: David Levi, a renowned American glass artist studied with Fritz Dreisbach, at Penland School of Crafts in North Carolina, Italian master Lino Tagliapietra at Haystack Mountain School of Crafts in Maine in the 1980s. After graduating with his BFA from Washington University in 1983, Levi received a scholarship that allowed him to travel to Sweden and apprentice with master glassblower Jan-Erik Ritzman. David formed his studio in 1985, and his pieces are in many collections including the William J. Clinton Presidential Center in Little Rock, AR and many museums including the Museum of Art and Design in New York, the Corning Museum of Glass and the Tacoma Museum of Glass. Condition: The vase is in excellent condition with no chips, fleabites, or cracks. There is a little roughness near the foot with some darker streaks of glass. I feel that this was original the making of the piece, possibly when the foot was attached.
