Bowie did not immediately reassign the CD rights to another company because he did not want his back catalog reissued as "budget" items.Ryko and EMI re-issued them with bonus tracks in 1990, although the RCA CD's are preferred by collectors as they sound most like the original vinyl releases. The mastering on the RCA CD's, especially for the European market, i.e., CD's with the blue spine, has never been surpassed.Rob Davison worked in the music industry for 10 years, initially for PolyGram from 1978 to 1983.
